UFC Betting Review:
Anthony Johnson was expected to face Nate Marquardt in the main event, but was forced from the bout with a rotator cuff injury and replaced by Rick Story.
However, Nate Marquardt did not receive medical clearance the day of the weigh-ins and therefore pulled out of the main event and will be repaced by Charlie Brenneman.
In the preliminary mixed martial arts fights Joe Stevenson lost a unanimous decision to Javier Vazquez which may spell him getting cut from the UFC.
Charles Oliveira had a great fight with Nik Lentz as both fighters traded back and forth punches and submission attempts but in the second round did an illegal up kick to Lentz’s face but the ref let the fight go and Oliveira ended up with a rear naked choke. The State Commission will review the fight's result due to an illegal knee delivered by Oliveira which eventually led to the finishing choke and may reverse the decision.
Joe Lauzon was all over Curt Warburton and landed some brutal strikes that sent Warburton to the ground and Lauzon was able to land a kimura to end the fight early in the first round.
Tyson Griffin and Manvel Gamburyan put on a great 3 round fight but it was the lower leg kicks that punished Gamburyan and Griffin won his UFC featherweight debut.
Matt Mitrione is now 5 and 0 in the UFC with a second round KO over Christian Morecraft with a brutal one two punch combination that sent Morecraft out cold.
The shocker of the night was last minute replacement Charlie Brenneman taken on Rick Story who was able to surprise Story and win a unanimous decision.
In the main event Cheick Kongo took little time in KO;ing Pat Berry with an easy first round KO.
