UFC Betting Review:
The UFC pay per view started off with two Canadians squaring off between grappler Mark Bocek and John Alessio. One article had Alessio as one of Canada’s best MMA fighters and clearly he is not as Bocek showed why Alessio was not in the UFC. The entire first round Bocek got a takedown and he pummeled Alessio the entire round with ground and pound in the half guard and full guard as well as the second and third rounds for a lopsided decision victory.
Next us was the Mark Hominick versus Eddie Yagin fight and Hominick wanted to get back on track from his 7 second KO loss to the Korean Zombie. Yagin threw looping over hand shots that almost put Hominick out in the first round but survived to regain his head to close the first round. Cut and bleeding Hominick came out in the second round and Yagin threw and landing a power shot that sent Hominick to the ground but Hominick once again regained and got back up and landed more technical jabs. Hominick came back in the third but it was not enough as the power shots won Yagin the fight.
Former WEC champion Miguel Torres faced rising star Michael “May Day” McDonald and it was the rising 21 year old star that used his power to KO Torres in the first round with a brutal upper cut.
For the Brendan Schaub and Ben Rothwell fight, Rothwell looked like he was in great shape but did it translate into a victory over rising UFC heavyweight star Brendan Schaub? For the Brendan Schaub and Ben Rothwell fight, Rothwell looked like he was in great shape but did it translate into a victory over rising UFC heavyweight star Brendan Schaub? The new physique of Rothwell was a right move as both fighters came out swinging and Schaub landed a spinning elbow that caught Rothwell but Rothwell came right back with a left hook that KO’ed Schaub.

The co-main event had rising top prospect Rory MacDonald versus hard hitting Che Mills. Rory MacDonald felt the Mills power at first and then decided to take this fight to the ground where he devastated Mills on the ground in Mills guard and in mount and in side control for a complete beat down and it was the same for the second round when the ref called the fight mercifully at 2:20 of the second round.
The main event was a bad blood feud between two former team mates Jon Jones and Rashad Evans. The first round was a battle as Evans tried to measure the distance and Jones used multiple leg kicks for all angles to push Evans off. The second rounds Jones started to take over with elbows that stunned Evans.
By the third round Evans still had no answer for Jones reach and the round was lack luster and edged out the round by throwing more kicks and punches and the same in the fourth round as Jones controlled the octagon with his reach while Evans has no answer.
In the fifth round Evans was behind in all four rounds and it was the same in the fifth as Evans has not answer for his reach to end the fight with a unanimous decision victory to retain the title.
The next UFC event will be UFC on Fox: Diaz vs. Miller (also known as UFC on Fox 3) is that will be held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on May 5, 2012 at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
