UFC Betting Review:
Carlos Condit worked an inside fight game along with leg kicks to confuse Nick Diaz to become the new interim UFC welterweight champion and will now fight George St Pierre his former teammate to determine who is the best 170 pound fighter in the world.
The former WEC champ implemented a remarkably effective game plan and won the UFC's interim welterweight title by stifling ever-active but ultimately frustrated ex-Strikeforce titleholder Nick Diaz, who suggested he may retire after the loss.
The fight was back and forth s both fighters were aggressive and both fighters put on a nonstop show. What was the determining factor was the kicks that Condit in the fight and fought an outside game to avoid Diaz’sd reach. Condit didn’t stop moving the entire fight and worked the outside with active leg kicks and counters. In the fifth and final minute of the last round Diaz took Condit down and took his back and wrapped Condit up in a body triangle and almost sunk in a rear-naked choke, but Condit managed to pull free just before the fight ended.
Diaz was so unhappy with the decision that he said afterward he might retire from the sport.
"That ain't right," Diaz said. "I pushed him back the whole fight. ... I think I'm done with this MMA. ... I don't need this s--t."
The judges scored the fight 49-46, 49-46 and 48-47 for Condit.
