UFC Betting Review:
Forrest Griffin avenges his lost against Tito Ortiz as he won a three spilt decision over the former 205 UFC light heavyweight champion. However, Tito proved a lot to the world as he put on a great fight and pushed Griffin to the limit.
In our MMA matchup report we thought the Griffin would win by a unanimous decision and over whelm Oritz. We were right in the fact that this fight would go the distance but we did not figure that Ortiz would put up a good fight. If you bet the UFC prop bet like we suggested you made some good money. Like we said on out matchup report, Griffin would use his reach to back away Ortiz and nullify his wrestling shoot game.
As we stated
Griffin has the size and reach advantage and he will push the pace of this fight. Tito will not be use to the pace, the size and the pressure that Griffin will push in this fight. Betting wise I love the lines for he favorite and at +165, I think this is a very good bet to make on Griffin. Forrest will stay outside of Tito shot attempts and pick Ortiz out with his jabs
In the third round Ortiz’s conditioning wasn’t where it used to be after such a long layoff. Griffin is landing punches from both hands at will and Ortiz is just covering up. Griffin stuffs an Ortiz shot as Ortiz has no answer for the jab and right hand. Griffin lands a clean left hook and a low kick. One minute remains in the contest. Griffin uses his jab to set up another snapping kick to Ortiz’s lead leg.
Maybe if Ortiz was more active in the last couple of years he would have pulled pout the victory but as we stated he is not ready and in full UFC fight shape yet.
In another exciting fight Josh Koscheck proved that he is still a 170 pond contender as he put away heavy hitter Anthony Johnson with a rear naked choke. In a striker versus grappler fight always PICK he grappler.
Antonio Rogerio Nogueira the twin both of Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira (Minotauro) has no problem with ATT and friend Luis Cane as it only took him just under 2 minutes in the first round to KO Cane.
Total attendance for the fight was 10,529 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center with a total gate revenue of $3,000,000. The Fight of the Night bonus went to Josh Koscheck vs. Anthony Johnson, the Knockout of the Night went to Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Submission of the Night went to Josh Koscheck
