Mike Ciesnolevicz came into the fight look plump but that did not stop him from Neil Grove with a beautiful heel hook early in the first round. The first upset underdog fighter to win on the night was Evan Dunham at +140 just brutalizing UFC betting favorite Per Eklund -170 at most online sportsbooks.
However that was not the biggest shocker of the night as +410 underdog Paulo Thiago knocked out top ten welterweight fighter Josh Koscheck -515 with a vicious uppercut and left hook that KO the NCAA wrestling champion.
Demian Maia proved he is a top level middleweight fighter with a very impressive triangle choke. His submissions are so smooth as he transitioned from top mount with the left arm under hooked to submit the WEC champ. As soon as Chael Sonnen bucked Maia transitioned to a perfect triangle choke.
Nate Marquardt and Wilson Gouveia slugged it out but Marquardt had a perfect game plan as he use every bit of his arsenal to beat down the American Top Team fighter. He used lower leg kicks, high kicks, body punches, takedowns and a very good ground and pound to finally finish off the ATT fighter. Greg Jackson fighters are by far the best in the business due to their discipline, game plan and coaching.
Dan Hardy pleased his hometown contort men with a huge left hook that KO’ed and pleased the British crowd in just 69 seconds. The main event had Diego Sanchez vs. Joe Stevenson and the first round was very exciting with both men trading in the stand up but Diego mixed up his punches with body blows and right upper cuts.
