UFC Betting Review:
Everyone knew the fight of the night would be Marcus Davis and Chris Lytle and they did not disappoint. Both men charge to the center of the Octagon and stood and traded punches. Lytle opens up with his hands and absolutely blasts Davis with a punching flurry. At the midway point of round one, both fighters swing for the fences and nothing lands clean. At the start of the third round both fighters embrace in the middle of the octagon in a show of class. In the end it is not enough, as Davis would this fight with a 3 round split decision
We were accurate in our UFC handicapping prediction in this fight. Normally we would pick Lytle in this fight but since both fighters said they would stand and bang with each other and Davis would win the stand up battle.
Denis Kang makes his long awaited debut against Alan Belcher and the Kang wins both the stand up battle with numerous shots to the head and takedowns with his dominate top game. In the second round Kang he listens to counterman Marcus Soares to take him to the ground and he does and proceeds to score points on the ground but he makes a mistake and shoots in and Belcher rolls to guillotine choke and Kang loses in the second round.
Rousimar Palhares beat down Jeremy Horn the entire first round with strikes and beautiful ground movement as he had Horn in turtle position and pounded him out the entire round. In the second round Palhares dominates like the first round but Horn is able to get mount and get Palhares in an arm triangle but Palhares gets out. The third round Palhares picks up Horn and slams Horn and coasts through for a three round unanimous decision victory.
Next up is the grudge match between Mark Coleman and Shogun Rua. Shogun lands a number of lower legs kicks and some knees in the clinch. Coleman barley make sit out of the first round The second round was also all Shogun’s but near the end both Coleman and Rua looked tired as he has a omaplata but could not finish him. By the third round both fighters are dead tired and stops him just before the round ends.
The main showed the Franklin is a great guy but is no where near a top mixed martial arts fighter that people expect him to be. As we predicted in our MMA analysis report, Henderson would wear down and beat down Franklin and he did for three rounds. Yes Franklin is well conditioned but conditioning only takes you so far and you need to have some skill. If you read our MMA match up report we told you to make a UFC prop bet on a decision victory.
