UFC Betting Review:
The most anticipated UFC fight in mixed martial arts history is done and we have a new UFC heavyweight champion in Brock Lesnar.
The fight started out with a thundering applause and the crowd was definitely in favor of the 45 year old champion while Lesnar got booed. Everyone wondered if Randy Couture could handle Brock’s size. He did in the first round but in the second round Lesnar landed an elbow and rocked Couture that send him to the ground and from there landed numerous hammer fists until the ref stopped the fight at 3:07 of the second round.
Again we are bang on in our UFC handicapping report; as we have always stated, Jorge Gurgel is the biggest joke in MMA. Gurgel is supposed to be a great grappler but all he did was try to out kick box journeyman fighter Aaron Riley. If you read our match up report, I hope you bet a lot on the underdog Riley because he pay out very good at +100 at most online sportsbooks. I hope Gurgel keeps fighting the UFC as all he does is make us money.
Remember being popular does not make you a good fighter as we stated in out UFC fight preview. Demian Maia is just on another level against a below average fighter Nate Quarry. Maia has one of the best guards in MMA and is the best technical jiu-jitsu fighters in the UFC. Maia took down Quarry right at the start of the fight, took his back and submitted him. Quarry, like Gurgel has no business being in the UFC.
Dustin Hazelett who just got his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt from Jorge Gurgel is actually a better grappler and fighter than his coach Gurgel. Hazelett who actually uses his grappling when he fights, was able to use the rubber guard and be able to tap Tamdan McCrory with an arm bar.
The main under card fight was a great battle between Joe Stevenson versus Kenny Florian. Stevenson was mad being labeled the underdog in this fight. From the opening g bell Stevenson stalked Florian but Florian was able to submit Joe Daddy with a first round rear naked choke at 4:03 of the first round.
