The string of poor performances by Japanese fighters in the UFC continues as one of the best Japanese fighters lost to a relatively unknown fighter in Dan Hardy who was a huge sportsbook underdog at +285. Marcus Davis who came off a loss to Mike Swick wins by armbar over fellow Englishman Paul Kelly. Another big underdog victory was fellow Brit Terry Etim’s +240 victory over Sam Stout.

Paul Taylor tried to keep the string of British victories rolling with a win over welterweight gatekeeper Chris Lytle. Both fighters came out swinging and was definitely a fight of the night candidate but Lytle won a conversational unanimous decision who many fought Taylor won that fight.
Sokoudjou who was once the next best thing in the 205 division has had some poor performances since coming to the UFC. It was Judo black belt versus BJJ black belt in Luis Cane as the BJJ black belt wore Sokoudjou down and finally landed some big knees that send Sokoudjou to the floor until the ref stopped the fight. As we predicted in our MMA prediction by our expert UFC handicapper Bill Ricardi, Cane would KO Sokoudjou.
The difference between Brandon Vera and Keith Jardine is coaching and training. Jardine is coached by Greg Jackson and he had a game plan coming into this fight. Jardine mixed up his fight will take down attempts and striking to form a well executed fight plan. If you read our MMA handicap report we said that coaching would be the difference in this fight and that Vera is more marketing and hype that fighting skills at this point in time.
The main event had home town hero Michael Bisping come in against Chris Leben. Bisping picks Leben apart for the first two rounds breaking Leben’s nose with precise jabs that hurt Leben. Leben who has never been the smartest fighter had no answer but to try to resort to brawling which hurt him even more.
Bisping had the better game plan and countered his shot which hurt Leben who had no answer for the Brit. He wins an easy fight in front of his home town crowd. If you read any of our MMA matchup reports we were bang on once again.
