Randy "The Natural" Couture defeats Tim Sylvia to become the first 3 time UFC heavyweight champion. For 5 rounds Randy kept landing right over hands to Sylvia. Couture was able to dominate and take down Sylvia at will. He won an unanimous decision on all the judges score cards. Also Matt Hughes and Rich Franklin made impressive UFC comebacks to mixed martial arts after both lost their belts to Anderson Silvia and Georges St Pierre. Matt Hamill the deaf star from the Ultimate Fighter reality series and now a protégé of Tito Ortiz was able to stop Rex Holman in the first round. One of the most impressive fights of the night was Martin Kampmann defeating Andrew McFedries by arm triangle choke. Also Jason Lambert was able to knock out Renato Sobral to make his make in the light heavyweight division.
