UFC Betting Review:
Vitor Belfort continued his resurgence back into mixed martial this Saturday with a victory knock out victory over Rich Franklin in the main event of UFC 103 at the American Airlines Center. If you read our MMA matchup report we knew that Rich Franklin would be overmatched against a fighter that was more skilled.
Belfort landed a left hook early that looked like a grazing shot, but it dropped Franklin to his knees as Franklin went limp.
As we stated in our handicapping report
He will be patient and have good counterstrikes. He will wait for Franklin to come in and once Franklin advances, he will catch him with a hook. Belfort will out strike Franklin and his counter strikes will send him to the ground.
Franklin is now in limbo in his fight career, he can not really fight in the middleweight division as he was destroyed twice by Anderson Silva. At light heavyweight he can not really compete with the more talented fighters. Belfort on the other and most in line for a UFC middleweight title shot versus Anderson Silva.
Once again Cro Cop tried to make a impact into the UFC but he was stopped in the third round by verbal submission after Cro Cop told referee Dan Miragliotta he could not see following a right hand that had landed to his eye socket. It was a pretty even fight but once again the UFC curse hits Cro Cop and he is not able to out on a good show in the UFC.
Last minute replace Paul Daley’s UFC debut was a successful one as he was able to knock out Martin Kampmann by TKO in the opening round as he replaced the injured Mike Swick. Paul Daley was a big sports betting underdog and this sets back Kampmann who was in line for a title fight with Georges St. Pierre if he won the fight.
Frank Triggs return to the UFC was a quick one as Josh Koscheck connected with a big right hand that crumpled Trigg to the mat for a quick first round TKO in the first round.
Tyson Griffin came in as a huge betting underdog and showed enough pressure as we stated in out MMA matchup report and he was able to finish Hermes Franca with punches at 3:26 of the second round in their lightweight matchup.
