UFC Betting Review:
One of the best sports betting play ever lost again. Chris Leben is a sports bettors dream continues to beat the book as a betting favorite. Leben is consistently opens up at most sportsbooks as the betting favorite and yet he continues to lose.
Betting against Leben is like as sure as a thing there is in online sports betting. He was put unconscious by Jake Rosholt by arm triangle in the third round. Also on the losing side was Demian Maia who was KO’ed very early in the first. It shows that you need more than jujitsu to become a top echelon fighter in the UFC. Nate Marquardt sent Maia down to the canvas with a straight right than sent him out for the count.
Nate Marquardt’s team mate was not so lucky as Keith Jardine was sent reeling by Thiago Silva as he puts Jardine down with a hard left-hook counter. Silva stands over the fallen fighter and punches him out until referee Herb Dean steps in at 1:35 of the first.
The main event had one MMA legend Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira taking on another MA legend in Randy Couture. The loser most likely might be calling it quits. The first round was an absolute slugfest as both fighters exchange blows but Nogueira was the round with more submission attempts as he had Couture in a tight brabo choke.
The second round was much the same as the first as Nogueira went for submission attempt after submission attempt. Near the end of the round a counter-left hook scores for Couture. Minotauro answers with a knee to the body.
In the third round Nogueira takes the Couture’s back. After working for a rear-naked choke, Couture escapes and takes the top position. With 30 seconds remaining Couture rides out in top position but Nogueira sweeps for the mount at the horn. Nogueira controlled most of the fight and he did not look like the same fighter that looked punch drink against Frank Mir. Nogueira now falls in line for a title shot against UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar.

The next UFC event will beUFC 103: Franklin vs. Belfort that will be held September 19, 2009 in Dallas, Texas at the American Airlines Center. Rich Franklin was suppose to headline UFC 103 against Dan Henderson. However, on July 31, 2009 it was announced that Vitor Belfort would take Henderson's place fo rhis loing awatied return for a Catchweight fight at 195 pounds.
