Cro Cop Withdraws from Dream.4

Mirko Cro Cop has just withdrawn from his grappling match against Ralek Gracie to give more recovery time to his nagging injuries according to Croatia’s Dnevnik.hr.

The two were suppose to meet in a Gracie special rules grappling match at Dream.4. Gracie wanted to have a grappling match as he did not want to get in a real mixed martial arts match that would follow Gracie rules. The son of Rorion Gracie the creator of the UFC wanted to protect his career and have a grappling match with no striking that would have been a definite advantage in his favor since Cro Cop is not known for his striking.

Cro Cop has apparently called of the special grappling match because he wanted to be 100% for his July 21, 2008 DREAM 5 main event against K-1 superstar Jerome LeBanner. If Cro Cop wanted to be in full health so he has called off his grappling match in order to heal his injuries. In early May, Cro Cop suffered a minor knee injury during his training

Cro Cop and LeBanner have actually competed against one another during a K-1 event in 1996, which the Croatian won via unanimous decision

Now word yet from DREAM officials if Gracie will be given a last-minute replacement or if the grappling bout will be canceled altogether.

No online mixed martial arts betting lines have been placed for this fight or any other Dream.4 online betting lines but BetCRIS.com will certainly be the first sports betting sites with Dream.4 betting odds.
