DREAM.5 Light Weight Grandprix 2008 Final Round final mixed martial arts matchups have been announced. Shinya Aoki, Caol Uno, Eddie Alvarez and Tatsuya Kawajiri will all try to compete for the Dream Lightweight title. The online Dream.5 betting lines for this event have been put out by Bookmaker.com

Eddie Alvarez who had been an underdog in all of his Dream fights and will be an underdog again against a really top wrestler in Tatsuya Kawajiri. Caol Uno also comes in as a huge underdog as he will be fighting Shinya Aoki who has mowed down Katsuhiko Nagata and Gesias Calvancante. MMA props bets have Aoki as the big favorite to win the lightweight title but watch out for the hard hitting  Eddie Alvarez who has surprised many going this far into the tournament already.

Also announced in the undercards will be former lightweight contestants Joachim Hansen fighting Canadian MMA fighter Kultar Gill or the Black Mamba which should be candidate for fight of the night.

The event is scheduled to take place on July 21, 2008 at the Osaka-jo Hall in Osaka Japan.

On the undercard Norifumi "KID" Yamamoto a top ten pound for pound fighter will make his Dream debut fighting US fighter Joseph Benavidez. Controversial fighter Yoshihiro Akiyama will also fight New Japan Pro Wrestling fighter Katsuyori Shibata

Nick Diaz was originally scheduled to fight Hayato Sakurai to determine the DREAM Welterweight Champion, but Diaz had to pull out due to contractual obligations to EliteXC and the MMA organization might restrict him form fighting elsewhere again as EliteXC was not happy he fought in Japan at DREAM.3

Crocop was also rumored to fight at Dream.5 and was scheduled to fight Jerome LeBanner, and later Mighty Mo Siligia but Cro Cop withdrew due to a recovering shoulder injury and minor knee surgery. It looks like he will be rescheduled to fight at DREAM.6.

Canadian MMA fighter Denis Kang was also rumored to but was pulled from the card late in July for unknown reasons. Kang has only one fight left on his FEG contract and might not be rescheduled to fight which might leave way for him to fight elsewhere preferably the UFC which lacks quality middleweight fighters.
