UFC Fight Night 17 Betting Odds

UFC Fight Night 17 betting odds are out and you can bet UFC parlays and UFC prop bets at 5 Dimes.com

Best bet of the night is the Luigi Fioravanti  vs Anthony Johnson  fight. Johnson is a -350 and mostly because of his fight where he KO’ed Kevin Burns at the TUF 8 Finale. Belvie me Luigi Fioravanti  is a very good fighter that can take Johnson to the ground where he is very weak.

At +260 at most sportsbooks this is a fight the odds maker got way off. Fioravanti  has fought top level competition like Jon Fitch and Diego Sanchez while Johnson has fought no one.

Another great bet to make that our staff recommends is for Mac Danzig to beat Josh Neer. Neer is tough and a game fighter but Danzig is smart and will win this fight on the ground.

UFC 94 Salaries and Payouts

Posted on February 4th, 2009 in MMA News, UFC News by admin

UFC 94 Salaries

UFC 94I see their payouts as particularly low for the “biggest fight in UFC history”. With all the hype that went into this match, I’m very surprised at how low the salaries are for Penn and GSP. How can both fighters make so littel comparableto how much the UFC made on the pap per view. Penn only get $125,000? That isn’t right. His and GSP’s fame/talent are what sold most of the pay-per-views and the gate, so unless they get a % of the PPV’s.

Salaries for UFC 94 main event winner Georges St. Pierre led the way with a $400,000 payday while TUF alum Matt Arroyo brought up the rear with $8,000. The total discloses salary total for UFC 94 was $1,057,000. UFC 94 attracted a sell-out crowd of 14,885 for an estimated live gate of $4.3 million.

Not withstanding the Pay per view numbers nad merchandise sales which will put the total profit for the UFC above 300 million by most estimates.

Here are the complete figures according to MMAWeekly.com:

  • Georges St. Pierre: $400,000 ($200,000 to show plus $200,000 to win)
  • Lyoto Machida: $185,000 ($60,000 to show; $60,000 to win; and $65,000 for “Knockout of the Night”)
  • B.J. Penn: $125,000 (would have earned an additional $125,000 had he won)
  • Clay Guida: $105,000 ($20,000 to show; $20,000 to win; and $65,000 for “Fight of the Night”)
  • Nate Diaz: $85,000 ($20,000 to show and $65,000 for “Fight of the Night”;would have earned an additional $20,000 had he won)
  • Karo Parisyan: $80,000 ($40,000 to show and $40,000 to win)
  • Chris Wilson: $80,000 ($15,000 to show and $65,000 for “Fight of the Night”; would have earned an additional $15,000 had he won)
  • John Howard: $71,000 ($3,000 to show; $3,000 to win; and $65,000 for “Fight of the Night”)
  • Jon Fitch: $68,000 ($34,000 to show and $34,000 to win)
  • Thiago Silva: $29,000 (would have earned an additional $29,000 had he won)
  • Akihiro Gono: $28,000 (would have earned an additional $28,000 had he won)
  • Dong Hyun Kim: $26,000 (would have earned an additional $26,000 had he won)
  • Thiago Tavares: $26,000 ($13,000 to show and $13,000 to win)
  • Stephan Bonnar: $22,000 (would have earned an additional $22,000 had he won)
  • Manny Gamburyan: $14,000 (would have earned an additional $14,000 had he won)
  • Dan Cramer: $16,000 ($8,000 to show and $8,000 to win)
  • Jon Jones: $14,000 ($7,000 to show and $7,000 to win)
  • Matt Arroyo: $8,000 (would have earned an additional $8,000 had he won)

UFC Fight Night 16 (UFC 16): UFC Fight for the Troops Betting

Posted on December 10th, 2008 in MMA Betting, MMA News, UFC Betting Matchups, UFC News, UFC Odds by admin

UFN 16 etting

UFC Fight Night 16 or UFC Fight for the Troops online betting lines have been released by BetCRIS.com for all the mixed martial arts fights.

As expected Josh Koscheck  is a heavy favorite but if you read our matchup report and UFC handicapping predication for this fight we have Yoshida being able to submit the top ten welterweight Josh Koscheck for a huge upset. The fact that he just fought a month ago plus the recent turmoil between his MMA camp American Kickboxing Academy and the UFC they might be too much in Kos’s life for him to completely focus on fighting,

Another good UFC bet to make is the fight between Matt Wiman and Jim Miller. We like Matt Wiman 1.5u/1.3u. Jim Miller just got back from his honeymoon 2 weeks ago and took fight on short notice next day replacing Frankie Edgar. Wiman ever improving, more explosive and one of the best new stars in the UFC. Both fighters are well rounded, but we have to give a significant edge to the more prepared man in Wiman.

Dont count on an upset by French Canadain fighter Jonathan Goulet at +300. He has not progressed as a fighter and has not improved his ground game to fight a well rounded fighter in Mike Swick. At -370 the lines are steep but Swixk will wins this fight. To read the UFC handicapping report for htis fight go to Jonathan Goulet vs Mike Swick

Yoshiyuki Yoshida   +205
Josh Koscheck   -255

Jonathan Goulet   +300
Mike Swick   -370

Razak Al-Hassan   +215
Steve Cantwell   -275

Nate Loughrann   +145

Matt Wiman   -115
Jim Miller   -115

Brodie Farber   +265
Luigi Fioravanti   -325

Johnny Rees   -110
Steve Bruno   -120

Brandon Wolff   +285
Ben Saunders   -355

Dale Hart   +265
Corey Hill   -325

Justin McCully   +145

The Fight Network Temporarily Off the Air in the U.K.

Posted on December 9th, 2008 in MMA Betting, MMA News, UFC News by admin

ufc-betting

TheFight Network, a Canada-based multimedia company that provides boxing, wrestling, and mixed martial arts news and events, has been temporarily taken off the air in the United Kingdom. Their television partner in the U.K., Sky Television, provides satellite T.V. To over 8 million households. The Fight Network is part of their extensive line up.

I spoke with Stephen Gaynor, Senior Corporate Communications Manager at Sky Corporate, who had this to say:

“We’re not receiving a signal from TFN and in line with our standard

process we have removed the channel from our EPG (electronic programme guide) listings.”

This is apparently strictly a technical issue, which both parties hope to resolve as swiftly as possible. The signal problem started in early December, and has continued throughout the last week.

The Public Relations department of The Fight Network responded to my inquiry via E-mail, and said:

“We are dealing with the signal issue , we do not have an estimated time for the issue to be fixed. I hope [the technicians] fix it before the holidays.”

We will continue to monitor the situation here at Fighting-MMA.com and  hope to have good news for U.K. fight fans sooner rather than later.

TUF 8 Finale Set With Fight Card

Posted on December 4th, 2008 in MMA Betting, MMA News, UFC Betting Matchups, UFC News, UFC Odds by admin

TUF 8 Finale Set, Betting Lines
Bet on the TUF Finale 8 at BetCRIS.com

The TUF 8 Finale wrapped up and Phillipe Nover will fight Efrain Escudero for the Lightweight (146-155 lb) six figure contract and 2 time NCAA wrestling champion Ryan Bader versus World Champion Brazilian Jujitsu champion Vinicius Magalhaes.

UFC interim Heavyweight champion  and top pound for pound fighter Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and the #1 Heavyweight contender and former UFC Heavyweight champion Frank Mir jobs are done for now as they now prepare to face off with each other at UFC 92 The Ultimate.

To get to the finals Phillipe Nover defeated Joe Duarte, Dave Kaplan and George Roop to advance while Efrain Escudero beat Ido Pariente, Shane Nelson and TUF bad boy but turned bust Junie Allen Browning.

To determine the Light Heavyweight (186-205 lb) champion  Ryan Bader a two-time All-American wrestler at Arizona State University advanced with wins over Kyle Kingsbury, Tom Lawlor and Eliot Marshall while Vinicius Magalhaes beat Rashad Evans’ brother Lance, Jules Bruchez and Krzysztof Soszynski to earn his spot in the finals.

No online UFC betting lines have been set but Phillipe Nover who Dana White calls the next big thing in MMA will definitely be the favorite. The New York City nurse has great stand up and even better grappling is what Dana White calls Dana White as “one of the most talented kids I’ve seen on ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ ever,”.

Ryan Bader should come into this fight as the underdog. He is a prototypical wrestler with great strength and who just lays and prays on his opponent. He is reminiscent of CB Dolloway who was defeating with in the finals against a good ground fighter. Vinicius Magalhaes is a World Champion Brazilian Jujitsu and he should have no problem submitting Bader in the finals. I would bet heavily on Magalhaes.

The last two episodes on Spike to determine the finalist went as the following:

Episode 11 - Make Him Pay

  • Ryan Bader vs. Eliot Marshall
  • George Roop vs. Phillipe Nover
  • Ryan Bader def. Eliot Marshell via Unanimous Decision
  • Phillipe Nover def. George Roop via Kimura

Episode 12 - Three Strikes

  • Vinny Magalhães vs. Krzysztof Soszynski
  • Junie Browning vs. Efrain Escudero
  • Vinny Magalhães def. Krzysztof Soszynski via armbar
  • Efrain Escudero def. Junie Browning via D’Arce choke

The UFC Finale fight card has also been set as Jason MacDonald will take on American Top Team fighter Wilson Gouveia. Also on the card will be Junie Browning, who despite his conditioning and skill makes it to the card. His attitude in the house was on of the worst ever displayed. In our opinion this person needs consulting or he should just head back to the trailer park.

Below in bold are the early www.fighting-mma.com UFC betting predictions.

Main Card:

Phillipe Nover vs. Efrain Escudero
Ryan Bader vs. Vinicius Magalhaes
Jason MacDonald vs. Wilson Gouveia
Kevin Burns vs. Anthony Johnson
Junie Allen Browning vs. Dave Kaplan

Prelims:

Krzysztof Soszynski vs. Shane Primm
Kyle Kingsbury vs. Tom Lawlor
Jules Bruchez vs. Eliot Marshall
Shane Nelson vs. George Roop
Roli Delgado vs. John Polakowski

To wager on this event or any other UFC fight card go to BetCRIS.com which will be the first online sports book that will come up with the online betting lines for the TUF 8 Finale

The event airs live on Spike TV at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on Dec. 13.

UFC 93 Early Betting Lines

Posted on December 3rd, 2008 in MMA Betting, UFC News, UFC Odds by admin

UFC 93 fight card has been announced and as expected Denis Kang will make his MMA debut in the UFC 185 pound division against hard hitting Alan Belcher. UFC 93: Franklin vs. Henderson will be held on January 17, 2009 at The O2, Dublin in Dublin, Ireland. It will be the UFC’s first event in Dublin.

UFC matchmaker gave the fans their wish by putting Marcus Davis on the fight card.  The Irish Hand Grenade is of Irish decent and he has already promised the fans a pussy-free slugfest with Chris Lytle in their home country.  For once the UFC listened to the fans.

The main event will be Rich Franklin vs Dan Henderson. Rich Franklin will get a test to see if he is really a top level contender. One of the most anticipated matches is Mark Coleman vs Mauricio Rua. There is bad blood between the two fighters as they last time they fought Shogun broke his elbow during the match when he fell awkwardly and Coleman pounced on him while he was hurt.

One of the best up and coming fighters is Rousimar Palhares and he will be facing UFC gatekeeper Jeremy Horn. Horn is suppose to be a grappling specialist but he is no where in the same league as Palhares

Main Card

Rich Franklin vs Dan Henderson
Mark Coleman vs Mauricio Rua
Alan Belcher vs Denis Kang
Marcus Davis vs Chris Lytle
Jeremy Horn vs Rousimar Palhares

Undercard

Antonio Mendes vs Andre Gusmao
Tomasz Drwal vs Ivan Serati
Tom Egan vs John Hathaway
Dennis Siver vs Nate Mohr

Rich Franklin Even
Dan Henderson -130

Mark Coleman +300

UFC 91 Fighter Pay Salaries

Posted on November 19th, 2008 in MMA Betting, MMA News, UFC News by admin

Bet at UFC 92 The Ultimates at BetUS.com

Bet at BetUS.com

Brock WinsAfter 91 UFC: Couture vs. Lesnar it looks like the money is starting to be made by the fighters, even though it pales in comparison to big money boxing matches and in relation to how much the UFC actually makes per pay per view.

The lower level fighters are now starting to get paid more but still needs to be done. We always stand by the fighters and think they should get as much money as possible.

Think about it, if you are scheduled to fight at a UFC event you need at least 3 months to prepare. You have to pay for your club, you have to take time off work, you have to go to multiple gyms to train, you have to pay your agent and corner men and you have to pay taxes.

Look at Alvin Robinson who got paid 7 grand to fight at UFC 91

After taxes he gets paid $5500 lets say. 10% of that goes to his agent and 10% goes to his coaches and corner men, which leaves him with $4455. Minus training and other costs to travel to train he might walk away with $4200.

Now given the fact he knows he has to fight in 3 month he has to take time off work to train full time everyday,  which means he is living off $4200 for 3 months, which means he gets paid close to $1400 a month. People at MacDonald’s get paid more than a professional fighter in the UFC.

Now if he gets hurt or injured during the fight who pays for that?

Now I would give anything to be a UFC fighter and fight in the biggest show on earth. But I also like to eat and live in a warm house. Come on Dana White pay the fighters a little more to fight in the biggest and best MMA show on earth.

Below are the UFC 91 pay salaries, see if you can live off what some of the under card fighters make and do you own math.

Brock Lesnar - $450,000 (includes $200,000 win bonus)
Randy Couture - $250,000
Gabriel Gonzaga - $110,000 (includes $55,000 win bonus)
Dustin Hazelett - $88,000 (includes $14,000 win, $60,000 “Submission of the Night” bonuses)
Kenny Florian - $80,000 (includes $40,000 win bonus)
Jeremy Stephens - $76,000 (includes $8,000 win, $60,000 “Knockout of the Night” bonuses)
Jorge Gurgel - $70,000 (includes $60,000 “Fight of the Night” bonus)
Aaron Riley - $68,000 (includes $4,000 win, $60,000 “Fight of the Night” bonuses)
Demian Maia - $40,000 (includes $20,000 win bonus)
Joe Stevenson - $35,000
Nate Quarry - $25,000
Mark Bocek - $18,000 (includes $9,000 win bonus)
Matt Brown - $16,000 (includes $8,000 win bonus)
Tamdan McCrory - $10,000
Josh Hendricks - $8,000
Alvin Robinson - $7,000
Rafael dos Anjos - $4,000
Ryan Thomas - $3,000

UFC 91 Weight In and Full Online Betting Odds Out

To bet on the UFC 91 go to BetUS.com

UFC 91 BettingUFC 91 is all set to go. The weight in s are over and the fighters are set as all fighter made weight. Both Randy Couture and Brock Lesnar made weight as the former WWE star had to cut about 20 pounds to get under the 265 pound limit.

This will be the most watched an d is the most anticipated fight in UFC history as Couture makes his return to the UFC to fight his biggest opponent and fan favorite Brock Lesnar.

If you read our MMA UFC handicapping report we have said over and over again that Lesnar is not experienced enough to beat Couture.

The UFC online betting lines current have Couture as the sportsbook underdog at -105 compared to Lesnar’s lines at -125.

BetUS.com has just released their online betting lines for the rest of the under card fight at UFC 91.

To get the bets UFC betting information and  MMA matchup previews for the fight go to

Kenny “Ken Flo” Florian (-185) vs. Joe “Daddy” Stevenson (+160)

Demian Maia (-245) vs. Nate “The Rock” Quarry (+175)

Jorge Gurgel vs. Aaron Riley

Amir Sadollah vs. Nick Catone

This biggest dog pick is fort Aaron Riley to beat Jorge Gurgel. The lines opened up with Gurgel at a +-130.

As stated in our matchup report

We have yet to see Gurgel do anything on the ground in any of his fights. He will not be able out grapple Riley if he can not take him down. Aaron Riley has been around the block as an MMA fighter who has fought every type of style. He has fought far better grapplers, strikers and wrestlers than Gurgle, and he will use his experience to beat Gurgel who never has a game plan, is wild with his striking and never uses he supposed superior ground game; so what good is he.

We recommend for online sports bettor to bet heavily on Riley

Other dog picks we recommend are Rafael dos Anjos +110 to beat Jeremy Stephens at -140 and Ryan Thomas +165  to beat Matt Brown +210

Matt Brown will get the TAUF betting bump in this fight. He is a not a good fighter and will get punished on the ground

UFC 91, UFC 92 and UFC 93 Early Online Sports Betting Lines

Posted on October 20th, 2008 in MMA Betting, UFC Betting Matchups, UFC News, UFC Odds by admin

Both Bookmaker.com and BetCRIS.com have released their online sports betting odds for the next up coming UFC events. Both online sportsbooks are known for coming out with the betting odds before another online Internet gambling site.

Both sportsbook have released online betting odds for UFC 91, UFC 92 and UFC 93

The biggest fight in the MMA history between former WWE star Brock Lesnar  and Randy Couture  is set and sportsbook oddsmakers have this fight opening line set at even at -115  for both The Natural and the Lesnar.

Kenny Florian is a slight favorite over Joe Daddy Stevenson in a lightweight title elimination fight

UFC 92 will take place on December 27 in Las Vegas as the TUF 8 coaches will square off to fight the winner of Couture  versus Lesnar fight, to determine the undisputed UFC heavyweight champion. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira is a huge -360 betting favorite as Frank Mir is huge dog bet at +290. This is a fight the top ten pound for pound fighter should easily win on the ground. In the stand up Mir has no power and if this fight stays standing Big Nog will tear him apart. On the ground there is no contest as Nog is the best grappling heavyweight in the world.

Also on the card is the Light heavyweight tile fight between Rashad Evans and UFC light heavywieght champion Forrest Griffin. This will be two former TUF reality show winner squaring off for a UFC title as Griffin will be a slight favorite over Sugar Evans at -130

The moist anticipated fight of the night will be Quinton Jackson versus Wanderlei Silva  with Jackson a slight favorite. Our early online prediction is that Silva will beat Jackson just like he did at Pride twice with his two KO victories at PRIDE 28: High Octane and at PRIDE Final Conflict 2003

On January 17 2009 the first UFC event will make its way to Dublin, Ireland where the main event will have Rich Franklin versus Dan Henderson. Many believe that Rich Franklin is one of he most overrated fighters in MMA and we see Dangerous Dan beating Franklin up for all three rounds.

In what seems like an eternity Mauricio Shogun Rua will make his return to the UFC to fight Mark Coleman. Both fighters have a past as Mark Coleman gave Shogun his first MMA lost when he broke his elbow in a fight at PRIDE 31: Unbreakable and there is still some bad blood between the two.
