Geoff Mackay’s UFC 121 Betting Picks
Hi Geoff Mackay here. Here are the latest updates and online betting lines for UFC 121 along with the UFC prop bets.
In my opinion Tom “The Filthy Mauler” Lawloris a steal at +145 verus Cote. Lawlor is a very well rounded fighter and he has the grappling, speed and wrestling on his side. I also like the +160 on Paul “Relentless” Taylor to beat Sam Stout who is a online betting favorite at -200. To me Stout is a very over rated fighter and very one dimensional.
One UFC bet I would stay away from is the Paulo Thiago versus Diego “Nightmare” Sanchez. To me this fight is too tough to call. I do like the fact that Diego has gone back to the Greg Jackson camp.
One underdog bet I really love is for Tito Ortiz to beat Matt Hamill. Hamill likes to push his punches and he looks very clumsy in the UFC octagon. In most fights where the student fights or idolizes the teacher the teacher usually wins the fight.
As I said in my UFC matchup report
+130 for Ortiz is a great underdog bet and you are truly getting good value for your money on this one—bet heavily. Ortiz may have taken some time off for surgery but he is a tireless trainer and will be in shape for this fight. There is no doubt in my mind Ortiz will come primed and ready and will put on a good show against Hamill, who still needs to work on filing out his MMA game.

One fight I think is a lock is for Jake Shields to beat Kampmann. Shields is one of the best pound for pound fighters in the world who, by the way, potentially has the ability to take UFC 185 middleweight champion Anderson Silva or UFC 170 pound welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre.
And in the main event I hate to say it but Brock will win this fight. Cain is a better and more technical fighter but when 285 pounds comes at you and is on top of you what can anyone do.
