Carlson Gracie Black Belts list

Carlson Gracie, Sr. (August 13, 1935 – February 1, 2006)

Carlson Gracie SrThe Carlson Gracie system is know to be the best transition to MMA and his brand of juijitsu favored a ‘warrior style’ of Jiu-Jitsu that encouraged physical prowess and barraging your opponent with a series of attacks which was distinct from that being taught by Helio which focused on emphasized technical proficiency.

Carlson opened up Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to the masses, and the masses responded, hungry to learn everything they could while Helio Gracie’s academy taught only the most basic positions to outsiders, reserving the advanced positions for the family elite.

Carlson reigned as world champion for thirty years covering the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s and to this day his brand of jiu-jitsu is the most aggressive and is considered the best form of jiujutsu to this day.

This Black Belts was the last one updated by Carlson Gracie himself. Notice that he signaled the guys that he had expelled but he hadn’t taken out their names from the list so anyone claiming to be a black belt directly under Carlson Gracie must be on this list or else is not telling the truth. The highest ranking black belt under Carlson Gracie is Marcus Soares at 7th degree black belt.

5 Dimes has put out their online betting odds for UFC 102 along with some UFC prop bets for the next UFC event that will be held on August 29, 2009 at the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon for the first time.

The mixed martial arts main event will be former UFC Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight champion, Randy Couture, fighting former PRIDE Heavyweight and UFC Interim Heavyweight champion, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.

The winner will most likely get a shot a Brock Lesnar for the UFC Heavyweight championship. Both fighters are coming off a loss as Nogueira lost to Frank Mir and Couture lost to Lesnar. If you read the handicapping matchup for this fight we recommended

At the end of the day Nogueira is a better fighter with more skills. He can take a beating and will end up with a submission. Though Couture will control the first part of the fight, in the end Nogueira will put out a submission

Also on the card is Demian Maia versus Nate Marquardt fight. The online UFC betting odds have Maia as the betting underdog. His skills seem to be too good and at that price he is worth the bet.

One of the best bets of the night is the Ed Herman versus Aaron Simpson fight. Herman is a -150 favorite. This price is a steal for a very talented fighter. Yes he has some loses but to top level fighter unlike Aaron Simpson who is still unknown. At -150 this is one of the best bets to make.

The best UFC prop bet is for the fight between Thiago Silva and Keith Jardine to go the 3 round distance at +110. If you take Keith Jardine at -160 and parlay that fight with the UFC prop bet you can a decent payout.

James Irvin +160
