| Former
UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Chuck Liddell will
be looking to bounce back from a knockout loss in his last bout
when he returns to the Octagon this weekend.
The
challenge for Liddell, though, is that his opponent, Keith Jardine,
will be looking for the exact same thing, as Jardine was also
knocked out in his last fight at UFC
71 in May.
The
two Mixed Martial Arts fighters go head to head in the aptly titled
UFC 76: Knockout at the Honda Center in Anaheim on Saturday.
Bet
this Ultimate Fighting Championship main event at betED.com
, which has Liddell as a 450-moneyline favorite, while Jardine
is +250.
Liddell,
also known as the The Iceman, lost his light heavyweight title
to Quinton “Rampage” Jackson at UFC
71, while The Ultimate Fighter 2 alumni Jardine was
dropped by Houston Alexander.
Other
fights on the UFC 76 card include PRIDE
2005 Middleweight Grand Prix champion Mauricio
“Shogun” Rua, who is making his Octagon debut
against The
Ultimate Fighter 1 winner Forrest Griffin. Rua
is favored at -400 while Griffin
is +200.
At
UFC
66, Jardine scored a TKO victory over Griffin in the
first round.
Originally,
the main event for UFC 76 was going to be Liddell taking on Wanderlei
Silva, a long-awaited match between the two popular former champions
of the UFC and PRIDE, respectively.
In
July, UFC head Dana White confirmed that the bout between Silva
and Liddell had been canceled indefinitely. Shortly after the
announcement, Silva released a videotaped statement saying he
did not back out of the fight as first reported by White and the
UFC, and simply didn't want to take it in September as planned.
