The main event in UFC 75 has Quinton Rampage Jackson taking (27-6) on Dan Dangerous Henderson (22-5) in a Light Heavyweight Title and Middleweight Title unification bout. This fight is not pay-per-view but will be available on Spike TV. For a mixed martial arts fan this is going to be a great fight but you have to give the edge to Dan Henderson in this fight. This is a perfect bet to make as most North Americans have no clue who Henderson is, just like when Rampage was the big underdog that no one knew about him until he beat Chuck Liddell like he stole something from him. If you read the MMA match up on Chuck vs. Rampage this fight is very similar.

Rampage Jackson is a 6 foot 1, 205lbs scrapper fighting out of Irvine, California. Rampage's strengths are wrestling, sheer power, hard slamming capabilities and powerful overhand strikes. He first made a name for himself in Pride fighting. He lost his first fight to Kazushi Sakuraba, who was the most dominant fighter at the time but the fight was so good that it elevated Jackson's status as a punisher and raised his fan base. From there on in, he was a favorite to win everytime. He would go 5 or 6 fights before a loss, which was either by disqualification or TKO. He can dish out punishment as well as take it. He still fought Mauricio "Shogun" Rua after Shogun broke his rib early in the first round of 2005 Pride Middleweight Grand Prix. In UFC 71 he beat Chuck Liddell, with a hard right, knocking out Chuck in the first round. This guy is an animal that can't be stopped right now. Yes, Rampage is powerful but he can only beat guys that are one-dimensional fighters like himself, Marvin Eastman, Kevin Randleman, Igor Vovchanchyn and Chuck Liddell. He loses to more powerful strikers like Mauricio Rua and Wanderlei Silva and skilled fighters like Daijiro Matsui and Kazushi Sakuraba.

Dan Henderson is a 6 foot 1, 205lbs fighter fighting out of California. He's a Two Time Olympic Champion and the only person in Pride’s history to hold titles in two different weight classes. That only, should ring bells to play your money on the Underdog in this fight. On February 24th Henderson took the Middleweight Belt from Wanderlei Silva at Pride 33: Second Coming. Henderson absolutely dominated him the whole fight and knocked him out in the third round. This fight was said to be one of the best performances from an underdog. He hasn’t fought in the UFC since UFC 17, in which he beat Carlos Newton by unanimous decision. He’s spent most of his time fighting in Pride and trying to make a new home for himself in the UFC.

Bottom Line
: This is going to be an all out brawl of a fight. Both have fought powerful veteran fighters and won. They've got the strength to KO each other with a one punch or go toe-to-toe pounding each other's faces in. Henderson's an Olympic wrestler with excellent ground-n-pound skills and Rampage is going to have to watch out for this. If both fighters fight standing up I think Rampage will have the advantage over Henderson.

However Henderson is one of the smartest fighters in the world and he has faced harder punchers then Rampage like Wanderlei Silva and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. He has also faced more skilled fighters and beaten them like Vitor Belfort, Kazuo Misaki, Murilo Bustamante, Ryo Chonan, Yuki Kondo, Kazuhiro Nakamura, Shungo Oyama, Ricardo Arona, Akira Shoji, Renzo Gracie, Renato Sobral, Carlos Newton, and Allen Goes.

Henderson is an all world fighter that has a never say die attitude when he fights. He has way more skills than Rampage does and has the ability to knock him out. Henderson will come out throwing and when he wants to, will take Rampage to the ground at will. Due to his world class wrestling background he will be able to pin down and keep Quinton on the ground until he ground and pounds him out or through submission.

Jackson is a one dimension fighter like Chuck Liddell is, but has way better stand up skills but against a true mixed martial arts fighter like Henderson he will get pummeled. To be a great MMA fighter you have to have a well-rounded skill set and Hollywood Henderson has it, while Rampage doesn't. Remember it is called MIXED martial arts.

Take the Underdog in this fight as most North Americans don't know what kind of fighter Dan Henderson is

UFC 86: Jackson vs. Griffin
Quinton Jackson (-245) vs. Forrest Griffin (+195)
This year’s version of the Ultimate Fighter reality series was a pretty much a snooze fest as both coaches were like two class clowns in a school yard. TUF 7 only showed that Quinton Rampage Jackson (23 -6) should never coach mixed martial arts fighters and that whoever trains Forrest Griffin looks like a 12 year old...read more
