This Saturday 2 of the biggest family names in mixed martial arts will be squaring off in Frank Shamrock and Renzo Gracie. Frank Shamrock is the little brother of UFC hall of famer Ken Shamrock and Renzo is from the famed Gracie family which any MMA fan knows invented Gracie Jujitsu and modern day fighting. Frank Shamrock was at the top of the MMA world and was the first Middleweight champion in the UFC and retired as the 5-time undefeated champion. He has not been defeated since January 1997.

Frank then just quit MMA fighting as he felt that he was not getting paid enough and didn’t get the respect, so at the age of 23 he retired. He felt slighted by the UFC and the MMA world. Now with the resurgence of MMA he wants to show the world that he is still one of the all time greats.

Frank wants avenge his brother defeat when Royce Grace tapped out Ken in UFC 1 and last March Frank Ko’ed Ceaser Gracie in just 21 seconds. Now 34 Frank is on the road to beat every Gracie and next in line is Renzo. Renzo is perhaps the best striker in the Gracie family but he should not stand and trade with Frank or he will suffer the same as Ceaser. Renzo recently fought and tapped out Pat Miletich but Frank has a way better stand up game. Renzo fought Carlos Newton and that match Renzo won in a decision. Newton is not on the same page as Frank and he barley won a decision.

Renzo does not have the stand up to match Frank and Frank is well versed in the submission game. Too much power and experience for Frank to be caught off guard with anything Renzo has to offer.

Bottom Line: Frank is on a mission to prove something to the MMA world and he will beat every Renzo with his stand up and almost equal grappling skills. Look for a second round KO from Shamrock
