Fedor Emelianenko is the best pound for pound fighter in the world without question. Most North Americans have no idea who this person is but he has the total package any fighter would want. He is a devastating striker who looks to knock guys out first and his stand up game in boxing and kickboxing is on par with K1 level strikers. He has a background in wrestling, samba and jujitsu which means if he can’t not knock opponents out he can submit them like he did when he fought Kazuyuki Fujita.

Matt Lindland is a very good fighter and an Olympic caliber wrestler who has beaten some of hte top fighters in the world like Jeremy Horn, Joe Doerksen, Phil Baroni and Pat Miletich. The major problem is that those people he fought have been middleweights category and Fedor is a true heavyweight. I don’t know if Bodog knows that this is not the early 90's and there are weight classes now.

Lindland will have to pack on some weight to match striking with Fedor but he will lose quickness which is his key to MMA game. Lindland has never fought anyone close to having the power that Fedor has. The only person he fought with similar power was Quinton Rampage Jackson and he is not even a heavyweight

Bottom Line: Lindland is out weighted and out classed in this fight. He will try to shot and take Fedor down but the weight difference will be too much. Fedor has fought the toughest and biggest MMA fighters in the world like Mark Hunt, Mark Coleman, Mirko Filipovic, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, and Ricardo Arona and Lindland's game plan would be to ground and pound but Fedor is one of the best submission artists in the world as well.
