Aleksander Emelianenko vs. Eric Pele Aleksander Emelianenko does not have as much skill as his older brother but he is a Pride veteran and he will be fighting in his home country against Eric Pele who you saw in the last Bodog fight. He basically looks like the regular customer at Fat Burger. Put it this way, Pele is fat I mean fat. He has a strong chin and uses his girth to power through punches. He has one style and that is to knock you out. Emelianenko is a skill striker and will jab and stick and move with the slower Pele. Pele was almost knocked out in his last fight in at Bodog Fight-USA vs. Russia versus Antonio Silva. It was a very sloppy fight and Silva rocked Pele and was winning most of the fight until Pele caught him to knock him out. At the end of the fight he grabbed his folds of fat and jiggled them for the crowd. He is a showman though a large one at that. Being a fan favorite is the primary reason he is fighting Emelianenko. I mean Tank Abbott was a horrible fighter but could KO people in the old days. Unlike other bigger sluggers in the MMA world like Cabbage, Tim Sylvia, Mark Hunt or Dan Bobish, Pele is really out of shape and very fat. We are talked a beer gut that has it’s own zip code. In my opinion Emelianenko will dismantle Pele so easily. First he is 6 foot 6 so he will be able to punch downward against the 6 foot 2 Pele. Emelianenko will move around the ring and give hi some pot shots. Pele will not be able to shoot out or even try to attempt a takedown so Emelianenko will be able to fire at will for all different angles. Bottom Line: Pele is too fat and slow to touch Emelianenko. Aleksander will move around and come in with crosses and high leg kicks. If this fight goes to second round we might need a deliberator. The Emelianenko brothers sweep Bodog Fight: Clash of Nations |
