Marcus Davis vs. Jess Liaudin
Davis
Bet this MMA UFC fight at Bookmaker.com
This UFC welterweight bout between the Irish Hand Grenade Marcus Davis (13-3) and Jess The Joker Liaudin (12-8) is once again the UFC marketing machine trying to hype up a rising superstar but in reality has Davis up against a ringer. This fight should not even be in the main card as the UFC now wants to hype up Marcus Davis who is a very exciting fighter but is one dimensional. I personal would like to see him fight better competition. This is the welterweight division for god’s sake.
Plain and simple Marcus Davis will KO Liaudin in the first round and do it will in such a manner that the UFC will now be able to hype him up and proclaim him to be the next great welterweight.
Marcus Davis has far far far better boxing skills than Liaudin has. He began boxing at 14, turning pro at the age of 19 nad is one of the most technically sound stadn up figther in the UFC. Davis also has a great chin and heart, that leads him to train very hard and never take a day off when preparing for afight. Even though this is against a lesser opponent he will not take this fight lightly. This is best exemplified in his most recent fight against Paul Taylor at UFC 75 Champions versus Champion. Early in the round, Davis was knocked down by a kick to the neck, but was able to recover, gain a dominant position, and secure an armbar as Taylor desperately scrambled to regain control. Marcus won Fight of the night as well as submission of the night for this fight. Marcus has worked real hard on his Jujitsu with Jorge Gurgel's main MMA academy in West Chester, Ohio and he has very much more improved his all round game. Not saying he is the next best UFC welterweight but he has the skills, work ethic and determination at this point to beat all the lower level competition. His getting better but lets not crown him anything yet. I mean just look at his prior fight Paul Taylor, Jason Tan, Pete Spratt, Shonie Carter and Forrest Petz are not exactly the top level welterweight fighters.
Betting wise I would lay a lot of money on Davis. Though the odds might not return very much, this fight will win you money as I do not see Liaudin putting up much a fight.
Bottom Line: Do I see an upset in this MMA fight? No. Marcus Davis will blow through Jess Liaudin, who has a 50% win ratio in mixed martial arts. He has not fought the level of opponents as Davis has. Both fighters will both come out banging and Davis has superior stand up skills and will be able to do a lot of damage to Jess Liaudin.
Davis wins but explosive highlight reel knockout in the first round
