In a night of some expected good fights and a night of some real freak circus fights the freaks won out. First Bob Sapp went in against a fighter almost 200 pounds lighter then him in Ikuhisa The Punk Minowa. Despite the weight difference Minowa was light on his feet and was able to sub the much bigger stronger fighter with an Achilles lock in the first round. The other circus fight had 44-year-old former MLB baseball player making his MMA debut Jose Canseco. Cansaco did make an effort as he came out swinging with big hooks and middle kicks, but the 7-foot-2 Korean Hong Man Choi unleashed some ground-and-pound and took him out in just 77 seconds.

The biggest up set of the night was Joe Warren defeating top pound for pound fighter Norifumi Yamamoto in the featherweight grand prix quarter-finals through an effective ground and pound.

The most anticipated fight of the night was between Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza against Jason “Mayhem” Miller fro the vacated DREAM middleweight title. Miller launched an illegal soccer kick at Souza and opened a large gash on the top of his head and the fight was called a no contest.

Another much hyped about fight came between two top ten lightweight fighters Tatsuya Kawajiri and JZ Gesias Cavalcante. Kawajiri used his superior wrestling skills with his control and punches from top. All three judges sided with Kawajiri.

Gegard Mousasi who left to fight in the Dream Super Hulk Tournament submitted Mark Hunt 1:19 into round one in the opening round while Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou showed he can only fight outside the octagon and UFC with a KO victory over Jan Nortje.

The lightweight tournament had Hideo Tokoro and Bibiano Fernandes moving on as he defeated Masakazu Imanari by unanimous decision as he is not the clear cut favorite to win the featherweight title.
