Marius Zaromskis came into the tournament as an underdog and virtual unknown in mixed martial arts. By the end of the night he has now put his name on the map as he shocked the world with two brutal knockouts to win the welterweight grand prix and championship at Dream 10 at the Saitama Super Arena.
Zaromskis beat Jason High and Hayato "Mach" Sakurai to complete his improbable run to the top. Zaromskis fought another underdog in Jason High in the final as he also stunned the world by beating Brazilian jujitsu specialist Andre Galvao by split decision.
In the end the Lithuania use his power to KO both Jason High and Hayato "Mach" Sakurai with high kicks to the head to become the new Dream champion.
In one of the most anticipated matches of the night Shinya Aoki fought Vitor “Shaolin” Ribeiro and the rubber guard master won a unanimous decision
The fight of the night was World Extreme Cagefighting middleweight champion Paulo Filho and Melvin Manhoef. Manhoef controlled most of the fight with his brutal kicks and striking but in the end Filho was able to get the fight to the ground where he was able to submit Dutch fighter.
