Fedor KOs ArlovskiFight recap:

Arlovski starts with a kick to the body and a right hand that clips Fedor. Arlovski lands a low kick to Fedor’s left leg. And one to the right. Arlovski continues with low kicks as he samples a hard left to the body.

Fedor clinches with Arlvoski. The former UFC champion tries to throw Fedor, but Emelianenko has none of it. The pace slows as the fighters clinch on the corner. Fedor presses the bigger man against the post. Referee “Big” John McCarthy restarts the action in the center of the ring.

Arlvoski lands a right hand and kicks Fedor against the ropes. Arlovski jumps for a flying knee and is knocked out cold by a Fedor counter punch. Fedor was on his way to dropping the first round when the punch landed at 3:14 of the first.

Many people thought Arlovski was winning the fight but he did not even make it out of the first round. Arlovski is the fifth UFC heavyweight champion to fall to Fedor. The list also includes Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Tim Sylvia, Mark Coleman and Kevin Randleman.

Throw in victories over Matt Lindland, Mark Hunt, and Semmy Schilt Fedor is heads and tails above another fighter.

Who can realistically beat Fedor?

Andrei Arlovski out coldWorld Alliance of Mixed Martial Arts Heavyweight Champion Fedor Emelianenko stands over Mixed Martial Arts Heavyweight Contender Andrei Arlovski enroute to a first round KO on January 24, 2009 in Anaheim, California in the main event of Affliction M-1's "Day of Reckoning" presented in association with Golden Boy Promotions and Donald J. Trump at Honda Center in Anaheim, CA, televised live on Pay-Per-View.

Arlovski was out cold with one punch and it took him awhile before he got up but that wasnot the worst KO of the night  as the Belfort/Lindland fight was scary for all to see. Belfort knocks Lindland stiff with a left hand. He finishes the job with some follow up pound.

What unfolds next is down right frightening. Lindland is down for quite sometime, and even minutes later it seems as though he’s trying to single-leg a doctor. The ring is full of medical personnel as they hold Lindland down and force a neck brace on the out-of-it fighter. Finally, Lindland comes to and sits in a submissive manner and tells an EMT he’s fine. The brace is removed and Lindland walks out of the ring under his own power. The official time is 0:37 of round one.
